Instructor, Dancer and Doula, holds a vision of wellness that includes
integrating the healing aspects of both traditional and non-traditional
health care. When Carol became pregnant with her son 14 years ago she
continued practicing her yoga right up to and during labor using pranayama,
mantra and gentle asana to have an ecstatic birth experience. Pre-Natal
Yoga, guided expertly by
Dr. Carol Penn, will include: ·
Asana
practices to strengthen and build stamina in the muscles used during
childbirth ·
Meditation practices
that connect mind, body, and spirit as a woman makes the journey to motherhood ·
Pranayama
(breathing) practices and visualization to release tension and manage pain
during labor ·
Learn to build trust
and confidence in the innate capabilities of your body The American college of
Obstetrics and Gynecology supports and recommends 30 minutes of daily
exercise during pregnancy. Current research is showing that babies born to
exercising mothers are healthier and experience fewer fetal complications
during labor, and may even receive neurobehavioral benefits as a result of
their mom’s exercise regime while in utero. Before beginning any exercise
program, check with your licensed health care provider. |
